The Black Physicians Network of Greater Rochester, Inc. (BPN) is an innovative nonprofit think tank composed of over 60 accomplished physicians, dentists, and healthcare professionals serving the Rochester, NY community. Our diverse membership includes MDs, DOs, PhDs, and MD/PhDs, many holding additional advanced degrees such as MBAs, MPHs, and Master's degrees in science. We specialize in identifying and removing barriers that prevent talented individuals from pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare, with particular expertise in addressing racial, financial, academic, environmental, and socioeconomic obstacles along the educational pipeline. BPN offers comprehensive support through multiple channels: our scholarship programs for medical students in the upstate New York Finger Lakes region, the Molina Health Education Pipeline Scholarship for pre-medical students covering essential needs like summer program fees and textbooks, mentoring programs featuring one-on-one guidance and career shadowing opportunities, and community engagement initiatives. Our scholars receive not only financial assistance but also access to our network of experienced physicians who serve as mentors and role models. We are committed to enhancing community health by elevating the representation of Black physicians in Rochester and the surrounding region, ensuring that diverse, culturally competent healthcare professionals are available to serve all communities.
