Hofstra Law Black Law Students Association

The Hofstra Law Black Law Students Association is a student organization dedicated to fostering community, professional development, and support within the Maurice A. Deane School of Law in Hempstead, NY. Based at Hofstra University's law school, this organization serves as a vital resource for Black law students navigating their academic and professional journeys in the legal field.

As part of the Hofstra Law community, which has educated over 12,000 students since 1970, the Black Law Students Association contributes to the school's strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Hofstra Law is widely recognized for its pioneering integration of clinical education into traditional law curriculum, offering students comprehensive experiential learning opportunities across seven clinics and practicums. The organization operates within an institution that maintains specialized programs in law and technology, health law, and family law, providing members with access to diverse academic and professional pathways.

The association supports students pursuing the school's JD program, as well as joint degree options including JD/MBA, JD/MPH, and JD/MALFL programs. Members also benefit from Hofstra Law's robust Office of Career Services, which achieved a 95% job placement rate for the Class of 2024—the school's highest rate in the past decade.
