About Jack and Jill of America, Inc., San Fernando Valley Chapter

Jack and Jill of America, Inc., is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2 – 19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc., San Fernando Valley Chapter is located in southern California. Since 1978, the San Fernando Valley Chapter has been committed to cultivating strong leaders and enhancing opportunities for all children through creative programming and community involvement. The women of San Fernando Valley Chapter are innovative, service oriented, and pillars of the community in the San Fernando Valley, as well as surrounding areas.

Our chapter’s mission is to equip our children to serve our community in the areas of leadership development, cultural heritage, legislative advocacy, financial literacy, community service and philanthropic giving.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a 501 (c) (4) organization of women that focuses on the enhancement, development and nurturing of family, education, community, civic and social values in African American children. Founded in 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jack and Jill boasts more than 252 chapters across the United States, representing more than 40,000 family members. As a non-profit family organization of mothers of children, the organization dedicates its resources to improving the quality of life for all children.

Each chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. plans annual programming activities guided by our five-point national programmatic thrust. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America creates a medium of contact for children to stimulate their growth and development. Through lobbying, educational programming, dissemination of education materials, and the organization of community and charitable events, Jack and Jill has promoted the public awareness and interests of children including child development, child growth, child quality of life, childcare and the promotion of children’s rights.
