About Jack & Jill of America, Inc. Chester County, PA Chapter

One day in September 1975, a group of twenty Black mothers met at the Malvern, PA home of the late Dr. F. DeVida Johnson. Calling themselves “Las Madres,” which means “The Mothers” in Spanish, these women planted the seeds for a chapter by forming an interest group for Jack and Jill. They worked diligently for a year to develop programs for their children and to provide community service to the Greater Delaware Valley.

The Chester County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is proud to serve and impact the Delaware Valley. We are honored to continue in the path blazed by our founders and continue to plant seeds of leadership through constructive civic, community service, cultural, educational, financial literacy, health, legislative, and recreational and social programs.
