About Las Vegas Chapter Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated
The Las Vegas Chapter has been committed to making a difference since our chartering in 1992. Our mother members lead the way by providing our children inspiring and educational activities in leadership development, cultural awareness, legislative advocacy, and community service. The betterment of the lives of all children is our mission and we are focused and committed to nurturing future servant leaders who will positively impact our world.
Our exceptional chapter is composed of amazing women from all professions and spectrums of life experiences. It is my desire to foster an inclusive environment for every mother member and her entire family. We are living in unprecedented times, so it is imperative that we have an organization that is a place of refuge; a place where lifetime friendships are formed and a source of support for our mother members, dads, and more importantly our children.
Recognizing that families in the Las Vegas area were in need of enhanced social, cultural, and educational programs, Linda Dougan and Nancy Justice began exploring the possibilities of establishing a chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. in Las Vegas. The provisional chapter, “EYE ON THE PRIZE”, was accepted as an official chapter in July 1992. Twenty-two mothers created a village for the children of Las Vegas on September 26, 1992 when the Las Vegas Chapter was chartered. Since then, our mission has been to nurture the growth and development of African American children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.
