About National Association of Black Accountants Inc. Metropolitan DC Chapter
The NABA Metro DC Chapter was founded in August 1972 by men and women committed to expanding the experience of minority professionals in the Metropolitan DC area. The NABA Metro DC Chapter was the first professional chapter established outside of the founding New York Chapter. Marion Holmes, who led the founding group for NABA Metro DC, was elected the first Chapter President.
Over 40 years later, the NABA Metro DC Chapter is the second largest chapter in the NABA Eastern Region and the third largest chapter in the nation, with approximately 250 members. The NABA Metro DC chapter has cultivated several past presidents, who have served in national and regional roles shaping the future of NABA. Members of the professional chapter participate in community outreach programs, serve our students and enjoy opportunities to learn from and network with our corporate partners.
The mission of the NABA, Inc. Metro DC Chapter is to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the future of the accounting and finance profession with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors.
The NABA Inc. Metro DC Chapter will be the premier professional association for accounting and finance professionals by providing optimal value to all of our stakeholders through innovative programming, leadership development, mentorship and engagement.
The NABA Inc. Metro DC Chapter exists to unite accountants, finance and business related professionals and students who have similar interests and ideals and promote public confidence in our members and the services they provide.
