About Newton Chapter of Jack and Jill of America

Jack and Jill of America is an organization that was founded on the aspirations for and potential of our children. Our purpose is to expose our children to cultural enrichment. We aim to challenge them to try new activities, acquire social skills and learn more about their African-American heritage. With this mission at the center of all of our well-thought out programming, our membership of 80+ empowered mothers is very active.

A child's life is enriched by the accumulation of significant and meaningful experiences, and few experiences are as meaningful as being of service to one's community. By teaching and modeling for our children how to do impactful work in their community, we get closer to achieving the vision our founders set forth in 1938.

The Newton Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was chartered in November 1966 in Newton, Massachusetts. The Chapter was chartered by a group of twenty-two mothers who believed that the goals of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. closely paralleled those that they envisioned for their own families. Those goals that these mothers envisioned for their children were promoting friendships, supporting charitable and social service events and awarding scholarships to students pursuing a college education. The Newton Chapter became the 124th chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
